The Wedding

We had a great month of June. After Jim's graduation and school got out, we took off for the East. We traveled first to Baltimore (Edgewood) and stayed with Holly & Luke & Jael for a few days. Had a great time there and also went to DC to see the sights we hadn't yet seen, such as the WWII Memorial, and went to the inner harbor area of Baltimore. Then we moved on to Centreville, MD to prepare for the BIG DAY!
Michele and AJ were married in a beautiful ceremony at Heritage Hunt Country Club. Luke was the minister officiant. Briana and Holly were bridesmaids. Jimmy ushered. AJ's brothers were groomsmen. And the Moms & Dads had a wonderful time!

Then, we visited friends in Lancaster for the weekend. We traveled on to Ohio and stayed with Briana, Ryan, and Delaney for a few days. We went to the Columbus Conservatory and zoo, and also toured a chocolate factory, and took some walks, usually ending up at the park so Delaney could swing! We also found an Eddie Bauer outlet!!! woo hoo!

After all that, we went to Bloomington, IL and stayed with Grandma B. Visited with the Benson side of the fam. and then finally came home. Three weeks on the road. Jimmy flew out for just 4 days for the wedding. Otherwise, he stayed home to work and take care of Marty. Great June!!! But also good to be home!!!

Jim's Graduation

June 6, 2009. A date that is set in infamy. James Patrick Benson graduated from Mayo High School. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our last one has graduated and is ready to fly from the nest. Jim is headed to Lincoln Christian University this Fall. It is in Lincoln, Illinois. He has signed up to study Psychology. We will miss him, but know that he is in a good place and is well prayed for.

This is our future son-in-law. AJ and Michele will be married on June 19th. What do you think? I'm thinking it's going to be quite the adventure. Need we say more???

Lucky 13...

Ya Hey Der! Only 13 more days of school! Woo Hoo!!! Our (Rochester Public Schools) last day is June 9. In the meantime, Mike is done with daytime classes, but is still teaching an evening class for Compass students. He is working on curriculum and planning for the next school year in his office during the days. Jim has his final choir concert this week. Then finals, graduation practice, graduation itself, parties and open house! The girls will all be here for graduation. The boys will not (boo hoo). Though AJ is planning to come with Michie, but it's not definite yet. AJ graduated from his college, Christopher Newport University, last weekend. They are hoping to have an apartment SOON! Michie will be done with work in Newport News this week and hopes to move into that apartment by the end of the month. She will start a new job at Prison Fellowship Ministries on June 1. So that's the Benson news! Bye for now!

Here is Jim with his girlfriend, Christina. They went to Mayo High School's prom last night and had a great time! What cuties! I've got to say, I think my son is one handsome dude!

Jim is 18!!!

Our Jimmy is now 18! He celebrated his birthday on May 2. We didn't see him much that day. Mike and I were at the Crossroads College graduation that morning. Jim worked (Petsmart) in the afternoon, and then he went to a friend's house where they celebrated his birthday. The next day (today) we went to church, took Jim out to eat at his favorite place, Buffalo Wild Wings, and then took his cake over to grandpa's. This is our 3 generation picture. Soon to come... more graduations, a new car for Jim (when I get a picture), and someone's wedding :)!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Yes, I finally could say it was Friday... but Sunday came!!! Christ arose and that is our hope! We can believe in a future in heaven because of what our Saviour did for us. We had a great service with a musical telling the story of Christ. Then we came home and had a big dinner with some guests (3 guys from Crossroads College who didn't have a place to go). They are watching basketball now. So I hope everyone had as great an Easter as we did!

Spring Break

Hey all! It's Spring break here, but it's still too cold! Temp. this morning was about 23 degrees. Jim and some friends went camping. Ha! Ha! They went out to the farm. Hope all is well. We haven't heard a thing since they left yesterday. My sister, Cheryl is in Germany visiting Heather and Billy and kids, including new grandson, Simon. I miss my grandkids! I did some shopping this week and got a dress for Michele's wedding. The wedding will be June 19, in Virginia. Plans are coming along well. Michie and AJ are doing a great job! I know I'm kind of rambling, but don't know what else to say. Only about 48 more school days! Happy April!

Again...

Here we go again. More snow. Most of the snow melted as of Fri., Feb. 20. Then we started getting more. Once again the ground is covered, probably six inches before all is said and done.
Saw some vacation homes in Panama that looked really nice!

Winter Wonderland

Yes, this is a picture from last winter, however, we have as much if not more snow on the ground this winter. It was -12.8 degrees this morning at 7:30. Right now it's up to a balmy -4 with a windchill of -18. Michele, I'm ready to move to Virginia Beach! Flannel sheets are a wonderful thing! But it is beautiful when there is a fresh snow.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The girls looked wonderful on Christmas break at Gma and Gpa's house, but I'm not sure what they thought about it. We took lots of pictures, but couldn't get good smiles. They were still the most beautiful ladies in church!

On Sat., Dec. 27, Michele went back to VA to see her boyfriend, AJ McGraw. That evening, in front of the Christmas tree by the White House, he proposed! So wedding plans will soon be in motion.
